| Boomarra was purchased in 1989 as the first of NAPCO's breeding properties in the Gulf region of Queensland. | |
| The property is on the headwaters of the Cloncurry River which runs into the Gulf of Carpentaria. The bitumen road north to Normanton runs through the length of the property. The land varies from Spinifex ridges to Mitchell grass downs. |

| Operations: | Fred and Carmel have lived on Boomarra since 1986 and have overseen the change in genetics from a Brahman to a Composite herd. Boomarra supplies weaners to the Channel Country and produces pasture hay for other NAPCO properties. During the season, about eight employees assist in running the operation. A mixture of horses, motorbikes and helicopter are used to muster the cattle. |
